Race 6 - # 8 Flat Out Joy (Final Odds 0.70*) - "A" Selection
Race 7 - The Solana Beach - # 1 Pulpit Rider (7.30) - "B" Selection
Race 8 - # 7 Causeididitmyway (1.50*) - "B" Selection
Race 9 - # 1 Vantastic (1.50*) - "B" Selection
Not singling Flat Out Joy in the opening leg on the main ticket was a mistake, as Flat Out Joy proved to be very much the best in that contest, winning Race 6 by as many as she wanted. In addition to overcoming that poor decision I also needed a little bit of luck, as Pulpit Rider's victory in the Solana Beach was by the narrowest of margins. Still, all things considered it was a successful play, if just barely, as I collected more than I invested.
For the record, here are the $0.50 Will Pays for the other three runners to which I would have cashed in the nightcap:
# 3 Foothill (8.00) - $310.95 Finish: 8th
# 9 Liar Liar (Ire) (3.90) - $153.45 Finish: 5th
# 11 Sea of Liberty (9.10) - $280.40 Finish: 7th
But that's what might have been. What actually came to be was a correct Late Pick Four sequence of 8 / 1 / 7 / 1 which paid $79.80 for a fifty cent wager. That makes for a profit of $14.30 on my initial $65.50 investment; or approximate odds of 0.22-1. Which sure ain't much; but I guarantee you that you'll never see me turn my nose up at profit.
I hope you all had it with me. May God bless us as we spend our winnings.
Onto the next race!
Peace and Love,
Jimbo
