Saturday's SoCal card features a pair of Graded Stakes; a dirt sprint for juveniles, and a turf route for fillies and mares. I'll be taking a look at both of those contests below, as I take another run at The Late Pick Four at the place Where The Turf Meets The Surf.

Miss Flawless (Fr) closed well to win over the Santa Anita turf last time out, and Trainer Leonard Powell tends to do well when placing his last out winners. The backup "C" Selections are the rest of the field.

Aquitania Arrival makes his first start for Trainer Peter Miller after winning his debut by daylight at Churchill Downs last time out. The backup "C" Selections are everyone else.

It was Maxim Rate who crossed under the wire in front of Bodhicitta (GB) in the Grade 1 Gamely last time out, but I think the shorter distance in today's contest will work in Bodhicitta's favor. Also note that Bodhicitta won last year's running of this event after having taken the Place in the 2020 Gamely.
There's plenty of early speed in this contest, but I think Charmaine's Mia is the one that they'll have to catch if they want to win. The backup "C" Selections are the rest of the field.
